Fortnight Battle Royale puts a different twist on the battle royale genre. It uses many of the same ideas as similar games but makes it more light and fun. You will first notice that the games graphics have a cartoony feel to them. This keeps the feeling of the game less realistic and possibly geared more towards younger less serious gamers. None of the less, this game is very challenging and requires a large amount of skill to be successful. So lets get into it.
We should mention this is only a review of the Battle Royale mode of the game. To begin the game, 100 players are crammed onto a floating bus flying through the air over the map. Each player then jumps off the bus and fly’s to the ground below. Once on the ground of the island, you start your search! Players scavenge for loot which includes guns, ammunition, potions for health, and other items. Along with this, players must gather different resources like wood or metal so that they can build forts for there protection. All these things will help you on your journey. The goal of the entire game; survive at all costs.
To make things even more interesting, there is a something called “the storm” which continuously is moving and shrinking the playing field. The more time that goes by in the game, the smaller the storm gets. This means players are forced to move closer and closer to each other. This is where a lot of the strategy comes into play. Deciding when to move for the storm bases on what loot you have, where other players are, and how much time you have left are all important factors when deciding what your next move should be.
Eventually, after many battles between players and deaths from the storm. Only the best players remain. The final battles usually consists of large forts being built between players for protection and lots of shots being fired. However, only one squad or solo person can come out the victor. You think you got what it takes?
Overall, we like Fortnight. Its available on many of the major platforms and technically performs much better than its main competition PUBG.
